【Aimer】新たな“はじまり”を拓く、超小型人工衛星「EYE」とのコラボレーションしたミュージックビデオ「SKYLIGHT」

新たな“はじまり”を拓く

2023年1月、ソニー製のカメラを搭載した超小型人工衛星「EYE」が打ち上げられました。
10×20×30cm の小型サイズの衛星はシミュレーターを通じて地上から遠隔操作が可能となり、あたかも宇宙にいるかのようなリアリティをもった視点で、星々や宇宙から見た地球の静止画や4K 動画の撮影が可能に。

そんな『STAR SPHERE プロジェクト』で、宇宙の映像が自分の眼でみた現実そのものかと思われる「EYE」の映像とコラボしたのがAimerのMV『SKYLIGHT』です。テクノロジーの飛躍的な進化によって、遥か遠くの宇宙の景色をグッと引き寄せた最新鋭の映像とAimerの歌がMVの無限な可能性をみせてくれています。

未だ全て解明されきれていない壮大な宇宙、そこに在る「地球」。
その地表に生きる人類にとって、宇宙の一部である球体に生きているという実感はありません。
しかし、紀元前3000年のメソポタミア文明から恒星シリウスを観て雨季などの観測が始まったとされ、人々の関心は宇宙という未知なる世界へいつの時代も向けられてきたことはいうまでもありません。

そんな人類が宇宙に対して想い憧れを抱いてきた歴史は計り知れなく、膨大な時間を要してきている…
故に、このプロジェクトは凄まじい「事実の投影」なのです。夢や憧れでは終わらないリアルな宇宙の姿がリアルタイムでフォーカスされているのだから凄まじいことです。

MV『SKYLIGHT』は、単なる宇宙の美しい景色と楽曲を融合した表現ではなく、人類の眼の視点にシンクロさせた「リアリティの世界」から、楽曲と共に投げかけられた問いのようなもの。また、同時に“あなた”は、ちっぽけな地球の一部であり、幾千の年月を紡いだ人類の尊さを、その無限の可能性を、諭してくれているようにも感じます。

かつて人類にとって未知の存在だった宇宙は、この「事実の投影」によって鮮明に可視化され、一見、思い思いに描いてきたロマンをも終焉させたかのようですが…
可視化されることによって「終わりなきはじまりの始まり」を新たに幕ひらいた、とも受け止められます。

この新たな音楽の可能性を拓いた楽曲を歌いながら、Aimer もまた、音楽の未来と地球に息づく自分そのものを重ね、更なる進化を高みに抱き「新たな始まりの一歩」へと昇華させたのではないかと感じます。

Opening up a new “beginning”

 In January 2023, the microsatellite “EYE” equipped with a Sony camera was launched.
The small satellite, measuring 10 x 20 x 30 cm, can be remotely controlled from the
ground using a simulator, allowing it to capture still images and 4K videos of the
stars and the Earth as seen from space, from a realistic perspective as if you were in
space.

 Aimer’s MV “SKYLIGHT’’ was created in collaboration with the “STAR SPHERE
Project,” featuring footage from “EYE” that makes space seem as real as if seen with
one’s own eyes. Thanks to the dramatic evolution of technology, Aimer’s song and
the cutting-edge video that captures the scenery of the distant universe show us the
infinite possibilities of music videos.

 “Earth” exists in the magnificent universe that has not yet been completely
explained.
For humans living on the surface of the earth, there is no real feeling that we are
living on a sphere that is part of the universe.However, it is said that the
Mesopotamian civilization in 3000 BC began observing the rainy season by observing
the star Sirius, and it goes without saying that people have always been interested in
the unknown world of space.

 The history of humankind’s feelings and admiration for space is immeasurable and
has taken an enormous amount of time.Therefore, this project is a tremendous
“projection of reality.” It’s amazing because the reality of the universe, which is not
just a dream or aspiration, is brought into focus in real time.

 The music video “SKYLIGHT” is not just an expression that combines the beautiful
scenery of the universe with a song, but a question posed along with the song from
the “world of reality” that is synchronized with the perspective of the human eye. At
the same time, “you” are a small part of the earth, advising us of the preciousness of
humanity, which has evolved over thousands of years, and of its infinite possibilities.

 The universe, which was once unknown to humanity, has become clearly visible
through this “projection of facts,” and at first glance, it seems as if the romance that 
we had imagined has come to an end. However, by making it visible, it can be seen as
the opening of a new chapter in “the beginning of an endless beginning.”

 While singing the song that opened up new musical possibilities, Aimer also
overlapped the future of music with herself living on the earth, and embraced further
evolution on a higher stage, sublimating it into a “step toward a new beginning”.
